This is the APU – Armored Personal Unit – from the Matrix Revolutions (but first appeared in the Matrix Reloaded).  Captain Mifune is controlling the machine and is the Commander of the APU’s.  Mifune leads the ground defenses against the sentinels when they break through the dock walls in the Matrix Revolutions, and this toy depicts the scene “Mifune’s Last Stand”.

This crazy toy was created by McFarlane Toys (of Spawn fame) , which puts out very high quality, detailed toys and action figures.  This deluxe set came out in 2003, stands 12 inches tall, and has more than 40 points of articulation — including several ball, gear-driven and pneumatic-style joints — and is incredibly posable.   The only problem with this is that there are a lot of fragile, breaking points to this toy.  Just having it displayed in a glass case was not safe enough for parts to break by simply standing there.

But nevertheless, you can see that this is a super sick toy and is still poseable for these photos!
