Here it is at long last, the Joker Statue from the movie The Dark Knight – featuring Heath Ledger’s Joker! Wow, this statue is so awesome, I find myself just staring at it! This piece is sculpted by Kolby Jukes. It isn’t that limited as they produced 6,000 pieces, but I’m stoked to be the owner of #4981!

This Joker statue is very nice, depicting Heath Ledger’s Joker superbly. He stands on a deck of cards which makes a great base for the statue. The statue measures 10″ tall, 10″ wide, and 6″ deep.

The Joker statue is hand painted and made of cold-cast porcelain. It’s a killer (no pun intended) addition to my statue collection!

I purchased this statue off of Ebay and the statue and box it came in were in pristine condition. I was lucky enough to buy it at around $100, so Ebay is an option to get this popular piece! Good luck!

Hasbro has a Star Wars line of figures called Star Wars Unleashed, beginning in 2002, which has our favorite Star Wars characters posing in really cool, high energy positions. This line really puts the “action” in action figure!

This is Darth Maul unleashed in an acrobatic pose holding his dual-sided light saber. The entire toy stands at about 9″ tall from the bottom of the base to the top of the light saber. Swirling flames surround Darth Maul’s stance as it appears he’s force-pushing his adversary with his outstretched hand. And check out his teeth! Nasty.

I picked up this toy when coming out of the Star Tours ride at Disneyland. Brilliant marketing placing a toy store filled with killer Star Wars stuff right there!

Very cool line of action figures, check them out!

This is the APU – Armored Personal Unit – from the Matrix Revolutions (but first appeared in the Matrix Reloaded). Captain Mifune is controlling the machine and is the Commander of the APU’s. Mifune leads the ground defenses against the sentinels when they break through the dock walls in the Matrix Revolutions, and this toy depicts the scene “Mifune’s Last Stand”.

This crazy toy was created by McFarlane Toys (of Spawn fame) , which puts out very high quality, detailed toys and action figures. This deluxe set came out in 2003, stands 12 inches tall, and has more than 40 points of articulation — including several ball, gear-driven and pneumatic-style joints — and is incredibly posable. The only problem with this is that there are a lot of fragile, breaking points to this toy. Just having it displayed in a glass case was not safe enough for parts to break by simply standing there.

But nevertheless, you can see that this is a super sick toy and is still poseable for these photos!

Spooooon!

Remember this guy? This is the Tick! The Tick was a Saturday morning cartoon, that started airing in 1994 on Fox. I remember catching an episode and thought this cartoon series was brilliant! It was a spoof on typical superhero comics/cartoons, with characters that parodied Batman, Wonder Woman, and others. One of the funniest characters was Sewer Urchin, who spoke like Rain Man. The Tick’s sidekick was an accountant named Arthur who dressed as a white moth.

Anyway, I’ve had this toy of the Tick since probably around 1995 or so… can’t quite remember. But this toy is really cool, it’s 16″ tall and battery operated. There’s a button on his back that makes him speak! His one liners include “I am the Tick!”, “Oh gross”, “Spoon!”, “Keen!”, “Naughty spawn, you face the Tick!”.

The second photo above has The Tick board game behind the Tick as the backdrop! LOL, I have no idea why I have that, I’ve never played it, don’t even remember where/when/why I bought it, but it’s still sitting on a shelf in my house. You can see part of the box and the playing board in the background behind the Tick.

This original piece of artwork painted by John Kwon was a gift given to me in 1989. The painting is completely original and has never been duplicated. John came up with the composition himself, so you won’t find this image in a comic book or anywhere else! John painted this with acrylic paints on a 22″ W x 28″ H canvas. The painting is framed behind glass in a custom made frame previously owned by Eddie Vedder! Great combo right? The Joker and Pearl Jam in one piece!

You can see the full painting framed above. Nope, sorry, not for sale.

This DC Direct Joker statue by William Paquet is a classic. This thing was released in limited edition in 1995. The box it came in (which I no longer have) advertised a 5,500 limited edition series, but in reality, only 4,650 were created. They are hand numbered underneath the base, of which I own #714 of 4,650.

Most collectors believe this is the best Joker statue ever created… it’s the only one I own at this moment, but I plan on buying two others so once I get those, I can post about them. This statue is a must have for any fans of the Joker. They have become quite rare, and be careful not to buy the “mini” version of this statue from ebay as opposed to the “full-size” statue. The full-size statue stands 12″ tall, while the mini version is like 4″ or something stupid like that.

Of course, Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker was pure genius, so his statue will be the next Joker statue I procure!

Check out my super sick Ringwraith statue from Sideshow Collectibles. This limited edition piece is one of the best Lord of the Rings statues ever imo. I own #3116 of 5000! This thing is big – 16″w x 15″H x 9″D, and weighs in at a whopping 20 lbs!! The Ringwraith and Steed statue from Sideshow is the real deal. The statue is an authentic replication of the costuming and make-up from the film. There are other Ringwraith statues out there, but they look ridiculous compared to this one.

Enjoy my awesome pics of this super cool piece!

gameinformer magazine, issue #209, has two different covers featuring Batman! This is cover 1, which I think is a bit better than cover 2, but both are really cool. gameinformer is the #1 video game magazine and this issue is featuring the upcoming release of Batman: Arkham City in 2011. Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to the successful game Batman: Arkham Asylum by developer Rocksteady Studios.

This issue of gameinformer has some really cool pictures of Batman and screenshots from the game. Can’t wait to get this game for my PS3!

Here’s my stunning Dark Knight Strikes Again statue produced in 1996. This limited edition statue, sculpted by William Paquet and designed by Frank Miller, commemorates the 10 year anniversary of the Dark Knight Returns graphic novel debut. The Dark Knight Strikes Again cold-cast porcelain statue was limited to 5,500 statues and really captures the style and essence of Frank Miller’s Batman. The massive volume of Frank Miller’s Batman comes through in the statue, as the crouching Batman dwarfs the new, female Robin as he trains her with the slingshot.

Check out my painting of the cover of The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. This comic book is a classic and one of the best graphic novels ever. Bruce Wayne comes out of retirement in a future time period when Gotham needs the Batman more than ever! Frank Miller’s stylized Batman is unique and memorable, much like McFarlane’s Spiderman (and Batman for that matter). Definitely my all time favorite graphic novel at the time of this writing, and I’ve enjoyed a bunch (Watchmen, 300, House of M, etc).

So, I painted the cover of book 1 on a 24″ x 36″ canvas. This painting will hang in my future game room! My next painting will be of book 4, The Dark Knight Falls, which will be a bit more challenging but will look incredible hanging next to this one!
